More than one address for shipping

Sometimes I would dearly love to buy something on Ebay and have it sent directly to my Mother or a friend or whomever.  So far I haven't figured out how to accomplish this via Ebay and PayPal.  Why?  What mountain has to be moved to do this?  Why do I continually get confronted with "not a confirmed" shipping address, etc., by PayPal.

Hi Iapon,

The good news it that you can confirm an address that's not your credit card billing address by mail if:

• You've been a PayPal member in good standing for at least 90 days
• You have a confirmed bank account linked to your PayPal account
• You provide us with a physical address, not a P.O. Box

Here's how to add an alternate address to your account:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. At the top of the page, type “alternate address confirmation” in the search field.
3. Click “Search.”
4. Click “Shipping to a Buyer’s Confirmed Address” under “More results.”
5. Click "Alternative Address Confirmation"
6. Choose a current address, or add a new address, and then click “Confirm Address.”

Note:

• It may take several days to confirm your alternate address by mail.
• It may take less time to confirm your alternate address if you add a card to your account that's associated with the address your credit card company has on file.

After you get the letter, log in to your PayPal account to confirm your address.

Here’s how to confirm an alternate address:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click 'Confirm Location' under Notifications.
3. Enter the confirmation code we sent you, and then click Submit.

Once the address has been confirmed, you'll be able to select this confirmed address as a 'ship to' address whenever you'd like.
