Paypal holds and printing shipping labels for ebay.

I have used ebay a couple years ago and I was able to print a shipping label from the funds of the buyer.  Now the funds are on a 21 day hold and I can not print a label.  How can I print the label from using the buyers funds or can you no longer do this with the 21 day payment hold?

I'm having the same issue, I'm usually forced to pay for shipping out of pocket.

What happens (( I did this with some batteries I sold )) is you have your bank account or credit card linked to PayPal. PayPal then charges your bank for the shipping, then immediately refunds the shipping charge to your PayPal account.


So no matter what, you have to have money to pay for shipping. I don't like the 21 days thing either.



Also, if you do not have tracking information, you still have to wait 21 days. 😞

If you use eBay shipping to print USPS shipping labels and you select the "pay later" option which is just below the displayed shipping cost, the shipping cost will be deducted from the held payment when the payment is released... you will not need to have available funds to pay for shipping.

If you use PayPal shipping, the shipping cost will be released shortly after the label is purchased, and so... you will need available funds to pay for the shipping label when you use PayPal shipping.

Sandy this is the best advice ever, and I thank you for it, but I still sit back and say inside my head "WTF?"

Why is only EBAY's shipping like this and NOT PayPal's?

It makes no sense -- they're the SAME COMPANY!!!!!!

What just happened to me is -- I was charged $40 fee by my bank for not being able to pay for shipping....I called paypal to complain and they did not even MENTION this fact that you could just use ebay for shipping and select the pay later option.  

She told me as long as I have a hold on my account, I am expected to pay for shipping, even if I specifically invoice the customer for a shipping charge and they pay it willingly.  Why can't paypal just take the shipping fee out from the hold, or basically just use the "pay later" option like eBay has?

A lot of times I use the eBay app on my phone (not on my computer)  which doesn't support the creation of shipping labels or printing, so I use paypal instead.  Argh....

I have been using the "pay later" option for the past 4 months and all of the sudden it is gone. The only option I have now is to pay directly with my paypal account...??? Have you heard of this happening to others? I am so very confused and I see nothing anywhere that tells me why this changed.

I to am being held captive by paypal for shipping labels not used on thier site,  21 days is ridiculous, I am reconsidering payments sites or just using craigslist.

The "pay later" once fees are released option is still available, I just used it a few hours ago to print up a shipping label.

Hi Shgrakus...

     That is good....  and did you checkout that link I listed in my post.?  I believe if you use eBay shipping label and  do not use Paypal Shipping Label... you still have to upload  the tracking info to your Paypal Account in order for them to release your funds sooner than the 21 day hold...  and if you use the USPS direct shipping labels... you can copy the tracking number and put it in your Paypal account Details info for that transaction .... Log In to paypal account and in Overview click on transaction details  > and it will let you enter the shipping/transaction number there.  and I believe you need to click SAVE....
