Found the Paypal guidelines below on changing my password. Normally what I do to create a password is to think of a sentence, abstract an acronym from that sentence pad it with symbols making sure I use a mixture of case and throw in a number of two. I followed these guidelines and after several attemps my password is rejected. I decided to post here out of sheer frustration
At no point in the process are you given any clues as to what might be wrong and why your password has been rejected. During the process both password boxes give me the thumbs up but when I go to submit it comes back with a red triangle & exclamation mark in the first box but the second box has got a tick.
I've followed the guidelines you. I mean seriously what muppet(s) is behind this password's change algorithm and the password page. Are these developers actually paid money to develop this rubbish. You've got to be kidding me PAYPAL!!!
Follow these guidelines when creating a password:
The password must be 7 to 32 characters long.
The password must contain a mix of letters, numbers, and/or special characters. Passwords containing only letters or only numbers are not accepted.
The password is case-sensitive.
The password must contain a mix of letters, numbers, and/or special characters. Passwords containing only letters or only numbers are not accepted.
Single quotes, double quotes, ampersands ( ‘ " & ), and spaces are not allowed.
Successive passwords should not follow a pattern.
The password cannot be the same as your Merchant Login name and should not contain any part of your company name or user name.
Do not post or share your password or send your password to others by email.

Well good for you, so how often do you change your password?
Trust me other people have had problems only a fraction will ever take to forums to complain.
Though I followed and even exceeded the password requirements on every attempt I finally managed to get a password accepted. I'm still none the wiser as to what the problem was. I've rarely had such problems before and I'm a member of countless forums.
