Prompted to register bank account when it's already registered.

I've just noticed a prompt in the 'To Do' column on the right of my account page to register my bank account, even though I did this years ago. As I don't use online banking this will mean a trip to the bank to find out what the two small deposits are and time wasted. I think this must be a mistake, but there's no one to contact at PayPal and the virtual help person is next to useless.

 

Help appreciated, thanks.

Hi there eurydice,

 

Apologies for the delay in replying but I thought it best to reply so others get to see the answer. Hopefully it may help them as well as yourself.

 

Bank accounts get removed from PayPal accounts when a payment fails to complete for whatever reason. If in the time from when you added and confirmed your bank account to now a payment failed you would have to add your bank account bank on there. Our system is designed to remove bank accounts after one payment failure.

Thanks for replying Wayne, but as far as I know I haven't had a failed payment since I registered the account.

My 'To Do' column still says 'Complete Bank Set Up', yet I've paid for ebay items since this message appeared without a problem.  I'm also being prompted to update my business details at every visit. I've already filled in the form and tried on three separate occasions to submit it, but keep getting a message that the service is not available at the moment or something like.

Hi there Eurydice,

 

Even though you may have been asked to confirm your bank account, if you have your debit card registered, you will be able to use this to fund payments through your PayPal account. This may be why payments are being debited from your bank account even through your bank isn't confirmed.

 

In regards to providing information about your business, this is a requirement for all Premier and Business PayPal account holders. When you are on the page to provide the information, can you see an Edit option near the end of the page? This would then enable you to provide the infomation on your account.
