72 hours to Transfer MY own money to MY account.

I've seen so many other topics revolving around the same problem I have.

Usually my transfers take seconds to appear in my bank account no matter the date or the amount of money, yet these past few dasy my money has been held by paypal for 72 hours.

I have to post items I have sold via eBay and rely on the money in my paypal to fund the postage. So I have to spend time trying to convince the buyer not to leave me negative feedback or worse ask for a refund.

I'm really quite horrified also at how useless the phonecall to them was.

Paypal has no right to withhold a persons money ESPECIALLY if it'll get them in trouble. I'm so annoyed at this.

called paypal cos i'm having the same problem, paypal said my money will reach my bank within 72 hours, i rung up to ask them why when its usually done instanty or within 2 hours. they said its because of security issues like haing used a different computer than normal to withdraw the funds or withdrawing them too quickly after recieving the funds. This is fair enough but why not send a phone call or text to confirm the transaction is legit so we dont have to wait 72 hours for something that usually happens instantly.

I wasn't given an explanation by the person I phoned, merely told nothing could be done. I would have been thankful for some sort of explaination. I agree, somewhere I've read they'll email you if your funds will be witheld for ANY reason. I've never recieved any such email. No notification whatsoever.

At least I know of the reason now. That's something.

You won't get it within 72 hours.

You will probably get it dead on the 72 hour deadline.

They do have the right and you agreed to it when you agreed to their user agreement when you opened your PayPal account.

Often the wait is because you withdraw the money as soon as a buyer has paid.

If so then as PayPal credit you the funds from your buyer and then they wait for the buyers actual payment to transfer to PayPal ( a few days ), it's pay pals money you are withdrawing and so they put on a hold until the buyers funds play catch up.

I tend to leave it in till the buyer has got the item incase I have to refund  and then withdraw and rarely get a hold.

yeah, well the time between me withdrawing the money and recieving it was literally 2 minutes and 20 seconds. might also be because im withdrawing it using a new laptop rather than my desktop pc. probably just a combination of both things.
