Direct debit set up, payment not taken and now a fee added

I have the PayPal credit account, and set up a direct debit about a month ago. It's shows direct debit is set up as I wanted to pay more than the minimum. Logged in yesterday as wasn't sure why the payment hadn't been taken to find a late payment charge and a lovely email telling me how to set up a direct debit. 

Sent a message who sent a response back about how to pay!!!! 

Ive sent one back telling them I've got direct debit set up and I'm sure it invalidates the direct debit payment as they didn't take it. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do?

Exactly the same thing for me. Keeps saying they are taking the payment on the 6th but the minimum payment keeps changing yesterday it was 0.69p so i payed £5 now its £30 but no idea why they didnt take payment. Just tried calling but got an out of office message. Gnna ring monday and find out what the problem is, this is my first month paying by dd

Just spoken to a team, call customer services and they will direct you to someone. My direct debit is fine but my account info is wrong because of the statement being produced on a weekend and due to a change i made on my dd. My email saying about an overdue payment was incorrect also. If this is your first month on dd then it wont take anything as it starts from the second month Hope this helps
