I made my withdrawal request yesterday morning, over 24 hours ago, it states 21 hours, now over this and I'm not happy. And it still states pending.

 

Its my money. So whats going on.

Welcome to the Community!

 

From time to time, our internal security system may place a temporary hold on a withdrawal to a customers bank account. This should only take up to 24 hours or so.

 

If it has taken longer, please let us know and we can try to investigate it further on your behalf. You can get in contact with us by clicking the Contact Us icon at the bottom of any PayPal webpage. From here, you can then click the Call Us or Email Us options.

 

Please let me know how it goes.

Good answer David but I was kept on hold for almost an hour this morning without reply. For the record my funds took 26 hours to arrive and the £5 charge was not taken but my business was place on hold for 24 hours which isn't good enough.

David , but why is this suddenly happening??  i have had 3 tyransfers for less than 20£   put under review ,...  this is not good enough and its OUR MONEY !!  please lets have an honest response ... I dont want to end up going to the Financial ombudsmen...

Me too, 2 withdrawals in 2 days under review.. I am a long standing customer with no problems so WHY is this happening, not just to me, to lots of ebay members who depend on these transfers for their buiseness.. !!!

i am having the same problem i have never had a transaction reviewed b4 in 5 years of using paypal needed the money b4 tomorrow to get things for my daughters birthday party on monday, as far as i am concerned paypal are stealin what is rightfully our we have sold items and sent them off and now cannot get our money, sort it out paypal

Hi I'm new to this forum but have used paypal without any problems until this week!

 

I too have a payment pending but wondered if it is safe to send the goods to my buyer?

 

I don't want to delay sending goods out but also want to ensure my funds are safe before doing so.

Paypal what a load of bull it is happening to all accounts and just about every transaction it is not random.You should tell the truth.It is wrong that you keep this money it is our money.You are using the wording SECURITY CHECK as a loophle so that you can hang on to the money for as long as possible to get more interest.The fact is you are not doing any security checks .I will be making a formal complaint to the FSA about this  as the new ruling is that monies should be paid straight away into current accounts and this took affect on th 1/1/12

 

Technically, all accounts are covered by Faster Payments and the new EU directive.

 

Accounts where the cash should be instantly available include:

  • Current accounts
  • Standard savings accounts
  • Credit card accounts (where payment is made to clear or reduce a balance)
  • Payments to HMRC for tax

It is time to tell your customers the truth it is a loophole you are using to hold on to our money

I have a small business and since17th September have made 7 small withdrawls.

AND 4 of them have been "subject to review".

 

No one creates extra work for themsleves like this and then does it for nothing....

 

So the questions for PayPal are;

[1] What is the real reason behind this beahviour and how are you benefiting?

[2] Are you charging for doing a review?

[3] Is this process costing me anything in any way?

[4] Are you just holding on as long as possible even though you should release within 2hrs just to get more interest on customers money or are you simply struggling as a business and need extra time to pay your commitments?

 

Contacted support and got a slightly different answer from the one higher up the page, I got;

 

Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding the withdrawals to your bank account.

I have reviewed your account and emails and can confirm that we are still placing holds on funds  before completing withdrawals as a security measure. However most of these holds are for a maximum of 21 hours and so the withdrawals should be completing to your bank account within a 24 hours timeframe.

you should see these hold times decreasing as this system is rolled out 100 %.

I appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and I apologise for the inconvenience caused.
