I recently bought * From Ecrater.com* ( mind you went through ALOT of trouble just to get the money in my paypal account to buy this item) Everything was fine and he said he'd even do a two day shipping because of all the hassle. well I kept nagging him for the tracking number and this is where it starts getting stupid. He said it wouldn't ship, that UPS wouldnt let him pay with his business card. after about 3 days I decided to check and see(he said he was a privately owned *Overstock* employer) If he really was from the real overstock..low and behold he's not. 1 day later he decides he's going to give me a refund back. the full of course. but guess what happens..because of the rediculous 1 week delay of holding the money(The FAULT of paypal), *this is my thought* He took the money out of his paypal then out of his bank and just ran away. Now i'm waiting for the slow SLOW process of getting my money back i've already lost around 15$ just for transaction fees to get that money into my account, I still have no item nor any money to get one. i'm very frustrated that this is taking forever to resolve because it's not that hard to figure out he's not going to answer you back and he's definately a scammer considering that i've talked to him throughout this whole thing and then after I reported him to overstock I haven't heard a word since...

I have yet to become a seller on eCrater, but I am going to set up a store. I am very new to online sales and have stores on Storenvy, Bonanza and Blujay, all selling different lines of items. I don't have a lot listed on any one store, 50 items or so. While searching for venues outside of eBay, I checked reviews on every selling site and they all say there are scammers and eBay has the worst feedback of any of the venues. Maybe it's because they are the largest, but their star rating is the worst of any venue.
Now as I said, I am not yet a seller on eCrater, but I am on the sites above. I am a retired older person who truly wants to provide a good product for a decent price. I only sell new items, nothing used. I have no stars, because I've never had a single sale in the 3 weeks I have had a site on these other venues.
Just remember, not everyone is a scam artist. And as far as google reviews goes, the biggest seller has the worst rating, so there are scammers on every selling platform, probably more so on the biggest of them all. I don't like eBay because of a buyer experience I had with them. I bought an antique item from a seller with a 97% approval rating. It was an expensive piece of Lladro. I have collected Lladro for years and had the same piece that one of my grandchildren had accidently broken and I had tried to glue back together, but without good results. But I still had it. When I received the item, it wasn't Lladro, nor was it even the same picture of the item I had bought. It was a plastic figurine of a porpoise, and some gravel in the box, not the large, Lladro woman with doves, I thought I was purchasing. I took pictures of the contents of the box and contacted the seller sending the pictures. I launched a complain with eBay. I checked the weight on the box because I figured that shipping plastic would be less weight than shipping a large piece of porcelain. That's why the gravel, to make the package weigh in at about what the Lladro piece would have. I lost $980 on gravel and plastic. EBay sided with the buyer; Paypal, which is owned by eBay, never refunded my money.
So I think the bigger the platform, the more likely you have of running into more scammers. There are honest and dishonest people everywhere and a 97% approval rating means nothing, or it didn't in my case. I think the best way is to buy something less expensive from a seller, and see how they perform before trusting them with that kind of money. It was a lesson to me.
Don't judge every seller by a few.

I agree that some of us are just trying to provide great quality products. I, in particular, have just opened up a shop on ecrater and hope that this will be a positive experience for both my soon-to-be customers and myself. Shame on those that take advantage of our trust and hard-earned money!!

I think that eCrater is better than eBay.
Like eBay, there are some shady sellers on eCrater website.
But, there are more good sellers on eCrater website just as there are some good sellers on eBay website.
Not every seller is the same.

I just ordered on the 29th from Ecarter. I have been talking to the person via email all along. So I asked a few times when my item will be delievered person has not been responding. If the person does not respond or I get nothing I will be making a report. I was really looking forward to this item and I am heart broken that it might not come. I spent a lot of money on this item and this would be the first time ever if I was scammed. 😞 It was a renissance (mind spelling) costume.

I did not read all of the comments above -- sorry -- skimmed them, but I too have had an eCrater situation--- more with one of their sellers, but they are being of no help. I paid for the product, did not receive it, paypal --( I love PayPal so no complaints with them)--- said I waited too long for them to do anything about it, eCrater says not my problem, finally tracked down the "seller" -- said oh so sorry for the inconvenience we'll refund that to you in 2-3 business days ---a MONTH ago, will not reply to my emails at all. So I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint with the state of California, City of Los Angelos on both eCRater anfd beautee bar. At least if I don't get my money back it is out there so hopefully someone else doesn't get screwed by eCrater and some of it's sellers.

At least you got your money back. PayPal just told me that I am out of luck because I didn't respond to some email i never got regarding if I actually wanted to file a dispute or not... which seems like a dumb question considering i went to the trouble of filing one; but they also told me that they do not refund for those who buy from eCrater.
So my story goes like this... I bought - or so I thought - MS Office for 3 computers by downloadable link. I paid through PayPal thinking they would protect my purchase, since they put their seal on it, but that is not the case, apparently.
I tried to contact Liam Taylor at eCrater, the one who stole my payment, but never received any response; even with the threat of disputing through PayPal - I guess he knew they wouldn't help me. So eCrater got $50.00 and I got the shaft!
And I cannot even dispute with my credit card company because I had my debit card on the PayPal account, since I understood that PayPal protects purchases with debit cards... and they have chosen not to in this case... for whatever excuse they can come up with.

Stay far from them. I left negative feedback and they are sending me email threats saying they will willingly pay for my funeral.
