Is there a time limit to report an item not received

Hi With the eBay/PayPal buyers protection scheme is the time limit for reporting an item not delivered. I bought an item from America about 2 weeks ago and the seller claims it can take upto 40 days for post from America to the uk, I don't think I have ever waited more than.7 days before. Now I seem to remember that eBay/PayPal had a limit on how long you had to report a problem and 30 days rings a bell for some reason, is the time limit and how long is it, I don't want to wait 40 days only to find out I cannot claim because is actually 30. Thanks for any help Jeanette

No 30 days is way too long. If the seller is sending an item internationally, he/she should provide you with a tracking number. You can file a dispute if you haven't received the item in the estimated handling and shipping amount of time provided by the seller on the listing.

You have up to 45 days to file a dispute with paypal and when you have filed a dispute up to another 20 days to escalate it to a claim.

It depends if your seller has sent the item surface or airmail as surface does take about 3 weeks ....ish.

Don't let it get to 45 days before you file.

However if you file and the item arrives you can cancel the dispute.

If you get a refund and the item turns up you can repay the seller.
