I sold 2 items on ebay and both are showing up as pending on ebay but when i go onto my paypal account their payment details are nowhere to be seen but the buyers sent me an invoice showing the money has cleared but it is no where to be found on my paypal account. Not even that the money is in pending there is no where to be seen their details of them buying my items. What is going on? This has never happened to me in the 4 years i have used ebay. What should i do? HELP!

Hi ccullen1,

It sounds like you may have entered an old or incorrect email address on your eBay sell your item form. This can lead to your payment showing as pending on your eBay account and not showing on your PayPal account.

To receive payment for an eBay item, the email address you used on your eBay listing must be added to your PayPal account.

Here’s how to find the email address you used in your eBay listing:

  1. Go to www.ebay.co.ukand log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘Sold’ in the ‘Sell’ section under ‘My eBay Summary.’
  3. Click ‘Sell Similar’ under ‘More Actions’ next to the item you want to be paid for.
  4. Find the email address you used in your listing under ‘Decide how you’d like to be paid’ near the bottom of the page.

Note: If you get an email from eBay saying you’ve been paid, the email address where you got that message is the one which must be added to your PayPal account to successfully receive that payment.

To receive your payment, add this email address to your PayPal account.

Here's how to add your email address:

  1. Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
  3. Click ‘Email’ under ‘Account Information.’
  4. Click ‘Add’ and enter the email address you used in your eBay listing.
  5. Click ‘Save.’

If you can’t access the email address you used in your eBay listing, send the buyer a new payment request. Ask the buyer to cancel the original payment and send a new payment to the correct email address.

Here’s how to request a new payment:

  1. Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘Request Money’ near the top of the page.
  3. Enter the payment request details and click ‘Continue.’
  4. Review the request and enter a message to the buyer.
  5. Click ‘Request Money.’

The original payment will automatically be cancelled in 30 days if the buyer is unable to cancel it.

I hope this helps

Hi there Kangar00,

If the email address in your eBay listing is correct & it is confirmed on your PayPal account then the issue is not from your end.

What message are you seeing?

Siobhan
