If you have funds in your paypal balance then that is the default payment method when you buy something.
Click on the word "details" next to that transaction and you will probably see that some of it was funded via your paypal balance and the rest from your card.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Hello stmagdb,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the PayPal UK Community!
I am sorry to hear about this. If you cannot locate a recent payment in your PayPal account, I suggest you to double check that your email address has been confirmed. This is a vital step to receive funds in your PayPal account. You can read here how to complete the email verification http://ow.ly/4mQln2
I'd also recommend to review your account history as the funds might be used for a purchase. This scenario is explained in the previous posts added to this conversation 🙂
If you still cannot locate the funds, you can also contact us via Twitter @AskPayPal and/or our Facebook page for additional assistance.
Hope this helps,
Carlos

Apparently this happens all of the time but its a first recently twice for large amounts. $625 today shows paid from my customer,
but the balance is zero and does not let me transfer anything in my account to business checking account. I have no holds,
no errors, nothing pending. Its simply a programming error that Paypal says they are working on and she actually told me that
it could be 24 hours, it could be 2 days she does not know.
In the mean time I have a hefty item that will cost me personally $100 dollars to ship, and I'm not even paid for the item itself.
What if there was a glitch and I didn't get my payment. I am shipping something I have not literally been paid for yet. It is not
going to happen. Since the two entities parted ways I have noticed a degeneration or degraded of good services with paypal.
I rely on them heavily for several businesses we run, but if money is going to be help then I can't continue this.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? I could lose this sale all together for this buyer because I'm not sending the item
until I get paid. On his side he has already paid. I asked paypal to send me an email verifying the situation so that I could
atleast forward it to my buyer. I didn't get that emai. Min. wait time on calls now is about 20-30 minutes. No call back feature.
They have sold this off to the devils in far away places that really just don't care about customer service. Period.
