I reckon that I might have been scammed :

I purchased a product using my credit card that is linked to my Paypal account . I received a receipt from Paypal , but there is no transaction showing in my account . My Credit card has been charged though .

I cannot open a dispute because I havnt got a transaction ID .

Despite several attempts to contact the vendor , I havnt received any reply yet . So I am looking to getting a refund .

Has anyone else out there ever dealt with :eileen tejada
worksforgreatmenathotmaildotcom......and not got any replies from them ?

Hi there Jamesmurphy,

You should try reviewing the history page on your PayPal account. If you click the History icon on your PayPal account and then the All Activity with Balance icon, this will show you a complete breakdown of your recent transactions.

If you are unable to see this payment on your transaction history, it could be possible that this payment was sent through the PayPal website without you logging in to your PayPal account. This would have consisted of you entering your name, email address, card number and home address in to the PayPal website. We would then have completed the payment and it would not show up on your PayPal transaction history.

If this may have been the case, you should try contacting customer services directly and we can assist you further with this.

David.

I have the same problem. I have purchased an item from the ebay user habraham156 on Sat 1/28/12 at 1:06 PM and I havn't still received the item and when I check my ebay purchase history this transaction is not even available.

However I paid for this before opening my paypal account as a guest paypal user and also have a receipt ID and Item ID with me. Please help me regarding this scam

You won't have a transaction i.d. if you paid at that time as a guest user.

HOWEVER if you contact customer support via contact us bottom of paypal pages they can open an item not received dispute but not sure how you are for time as it has to be started within 45 days of paying.

If it was an ebay transaction you can get the sellers tel number via advanced search top of page > contact member. Also you have the feedback option up to 90 days.

I have the same issue as OP. Your answer is nice but it still doesn't answer why do we only get a receipt id and not a transaction id and what is the PURPOSE of the receipt id and what are we supposed to do with it in case we dont have that transaction in the history obviously.

I have no idea why you only get a receipt and not a transaction id. You need to ask paypal that one.

I just try and help people sort things with the system as it is.

If you don't have a transaction id then odds are you paid as a guest payer and not by logging in to your paypal account.

If that is the case then you can open a dispute via the resolution tab in your paypal account.

But if the transaction was before June 17th you only had up to 45 days to file a dispute.

If it was AFTER that date then you can open one up to 6 months after.
