Reinstate direct debit

Hi, has Paypal made reinstating direct debit an optiion without cancelling everything and starting over again?  I accidently deleted it from my account, such a pain and I can't get anywhere with it.  this is hardly a complicated issue for Paypal, or is it?

Hi Fran123 and welcome to the PayPal community forum, 

 

When the direct debit has been cancelled with your bank that was set up with PayPal you must remove your bank account and re-add it. Once re-added you will then have the option to reconfirm it.

 

To add, remove and confirm your bank account please go to your Profile tab, located on the right hand side of your account overview screen.

Your suggestion/procedure does not work for me. For 3 days now, all I get is PayPal's autoresponder that says, "Sorry — your last action could not be completed." Now what?

Hi there ENIGMATOID,

 

If you are facing difficulties when trying to remove your bank account from your PayPal account, you should try contacting customer services directly and we will be able to help you with getting your bank account information reset. 

 

This should then enable you to add your bank account again and initiate the verification process again.
