Zoosk - Will they continue to charge me?

Hey all. New here so go easy on me 🙂

I have subscribed to Zoosk dating site and I did my research and have come across a few horror stories regarding Zoosk continuing to charge/debit users who have cancelled their subscriptions.

I joined on a one month basis but I have clicked the "Cancel Auto Renew" feature in the settings tab. However, I am still concerned that as they have my details and the payments were linked to Paypal, they could charge me without prior notice or permission.

So, I ask is there a facility to block them through Paypal or will I just have to hope that when (in a month) my subscription expires that I won't be recharged?

I fully intend to shut down and remove my dating profile and I feel a bit embarrassed as I should have really thought this through.

Anyone else used Zoosk and what was your experience.

Thanks

Nothing wrong with a dating site, going to a wedding next week of a friend who met her future hubby on one, and have another in 6 months.

Here’s how to cancel a subscription or recurring payment:

1.Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
2.Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3.Select ‘My money'.
4.In the ‘My pre-approved payments’ section, click ‘Update'.
5.Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel’.
6.Click ‘Cancel Profile’ to confirm your request

When going to your "profile" be sure to double click on the tab to open the full Profile page as you may not get all the options if you just hover you mouse over it. Once the page loads you will see the section that says "my money.

Thank you kindly for your reply. I have done as you have advised and when clicking on the merchant (Zoosk Inc) under "cancelled" they come up so hopefully thats sorted it. It also adds the date 06/09/13 (today) so it has been recorded.

Incidentally, I have no issues with Dating sites per se. The issue is when one wants to leave and yes although some "horror stories" could be complete fabrication to scare people off, there are some legitimate cases where people have been charged regulary and unfairly. I didn't want to be one of those people.

Thanks again.
