Items paid for but money still not debited or showing as debeted from bank

I have bought 3 things over the past few days and used Paypal to pay for them. All items have been paid for according to my paypal account and have been despatched by the seller. The problem is that non of them are showing as being debeted from my bank account. One item i ordered and paid for on the 26th dec, i have received the item. Generally if i check my bank account and even it it doesn't show as itemised i know it has been debeted as it will come off my available balance. ie it will show

Account balance £1000

Avail Balance       £ 990

so i would know the item i bought for £10 as been debeted but yet to show as itemised. This generally happens immediately but has never taken aslong as 3days to show or be debeted. Non of them are showing as being taken of my Account Balance.

Any idea, has this happened to anyone. Of course i will be contacting Paypal but i was just curious if anyone else had the same problem

I have recently varified my bank account so i could transfer money from my Paypal account to my bank account. Since doing this it has made my bank account the primary payment account instead of what was my debit card. So no if i pay anything it draws the money from my bank account direct instead of using my Debit card. This means that Paypal actually pay your bill for you and then request the money from your bank hense the seller gets paid, you get your items all before the money is taken from your bank. The way around it is to change the payment option when you actually come to pay using Paypal to your debit / credit card, this you will have to do everytime you buy something. The only other way i could think of would be to remove your bank account, re-add  and leave it un-varified (not sure if this would work or if paypal would remember your bank account when you re add it)

So if you have recently varified your bank account then this is the reason

If you have paid using your bank account it generally takes 2-3 working days for the funds to be debited from your bank account as they are requested via a direct debit mandate. However some banks can be quicker at processing the direct debit mandate request so be sure to have the funds available when making your transaction and this will avoid any failed payments.
