iPhone 6s not connecting to PayPal here app

The card reader is showing attached on the small card at the top of the app but keep getting black over lay saying connecting to PayPal 998 can anyone help please this is really doing my head in thanks Mike

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties when trying to login on your PayPal Here App. 

 

Can I ask if you have tried to delete and reinstall the app on your mobile device to see if that helps?

Getting this as well. I'm currently at a fair, people asking to pay by card, my **bleep** reader isn't connecting in the app! I have re-paired, deleted and reloaded the app. Am on great 4g coverage, yet cannot take payments. Tried to phone in and the lines to PayPal are busy ... " we are experiencing high call volumes" message. Very poor as this is the one fair ideally needed my reader for and it doesn't work. It did last week, but not today. Must be a PayPal server issue.

I spoke to PayPal yesterday they say it's a software glitch between the app and apple I'm using an android to take payments at the minute

Seems a bit odd ... It has been working fine and certainly was last weekend. PayPal need to sort it rather than blaming Apple as its their app, their reader and so long as the network is up, there shouldn't be an issue - it can't be a Bluetooth problem as the reader pairs ok, just the app doesn't communicate with it.

Interesting -just loaded the app and paired with my Mrs iPhone 6s running iOS 9.2.1 and it works ok ... But not on my 6s plus. A real pita but at least we can take payments now, though have lost three £200+ sales because of the problem!

i have been communicating with PayPal over this and they basically just shrug and say 'not our problem' - except it could have been picked up in the beta release of 9.3.1 if anyone had tested it. That's why the app developers get access to the Apple beta programme.

 

the least PayPal could have done is put up a message on the app to warn of a possible issue. I could that I could use the reader on  the iPad version of the app even on 9.3.1 but didn't take it with me on Saturday as I hadn't expected to need it.

 

I'm seriously thinking of moving to iZettle if this is the standard of customer support and empathy PayPal have shown over this issue.
