Account Limited due to account created years ago when underage

Recently went over the transaction limit and had to verify my account. Account was limited indefinitely reason being that I created my account when I was underage. (My mistake as I had no recollection that they had a age restriction since it was more than 7 years ago). Paypal Support told me to create a new account with a new email as I am now of legal age. Why can’t I use the existing account? And if I can’t use my existing account, can I get paypal to issue me an official document saying that my account has been limited (with my full name, account email address) - need this to change the paypal account linked to my brokerage.

PayPal simply don't allow the use of accounts that was opened while underage.

Did you receive an email that your PayPal account has been permanently limited? That should be sufficient for your brokerage. The email should have addressed you by full name and your PayPal email address should be on the header when you print it out but save it as pdf to forward to your brokerage.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I’ve gotten a reply and it seems I need to close my account. Here is the email “Please provide us also with a screenshot of PayPal account closure email received from PayPal. Please make sure that screenshot also shows receivers email (your PayPal account email).” I tried to close my account but there is an error message saying “Sorry, there's a problem. If you keep seeing this, please contact customer service.”
