Why is paypal  complicit with vendor Thermal Touch Gloves?

If you visit the product review section of their webstore, you will be shocked.

Shopify also complicit.

How many people actually report the shop for violating Acceptable Use Policy to PayPal/Shopify besides just filing a dispute to undo the transaction.

These guys will just set up another account/company, rinse and repeat. It’s up to consumers to change their behavior as well because we can only control ourselves to adapt, doing our due diligence before buying. The rest is like pulling teeth.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I understand what you said.    We can't make them disappear, but we can make it harder to operate.    Let them rinse and repeat constantly.    All it should take is one well written and substantiated fraud report to bring down a site run by scammers.   That's exactly what I did, I however, shopify and paypal did not act.

moreover, if you google "shopify scams", you'Il find many news articles reporting this growing trend.

Paypal can't stop sites from trading, as most are in China and China is quite happy with these sites and they are allowed to also sell fakes in China then not a lot paypal can do about it.

As Sharpie said if paypal withdrew their use of paypal from a site then they just start over again with another name / company / site and add paypal again.

Then paypal has to wait until they have enough claims in to realise the site is scam and the same thing happens again. Setting up fake companies takes seconds in China.

The best thing is to not buy from them in the first place, to recognise them -

1. No return address on the returns policy. The site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) but they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost often more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number. if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. Rarely company address information.
4. Great pictures of items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.
5. Fake reviews.
6. Google and you can often see previous company names as they change them once enough claims roll in and Paypal stop them using their services and start over.
7. Send fake tracking numbers to win item non receipt of item claims.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I understand.     In this particular case, the thermal touch gloves scam matches the points you listed above, yet paypal still hasn't stopped them.

neither does shopify, which hosts them.

the evidence is clear and unambiguous.

inaction gives the wrong impression.

the fact that these fraudsters proliferate unimpeded in china does not make them untouchable.
