I have been charged by digital River Ireland Ltd for 49.99? Apparently the service states its for a avg subscription.. which I never have bought! Opened a case with PayPal they say I have agreed to this and they can't help? However when I message avg.. they have nothing with my any of my email addresses!! Has someone used my PayPal for there own personal one? As avg won't tell me the email adress for the use of my paypal? Super confused and want my money back.

We have had the same unauthorised transaction to the same company too, it seems this has been happening for years to people and i can't find a solution to the problem either.

Yes, I do use the AVGFree on my laptop as ANTI VIRUS, have for about 15 years. But had no problems prior to 4 years ago

This is connected with Avast Anti-Virus which is supposed to be FREE. They have just made a claim against my PAYPAL Account for £59.99.

My experience with Paypal of late is that their security is being torn apart by smarter people than themselves.

The way our complaints are 'herded' by a truly juvenile AI is so dispiriting - Paypal can help secure the internet or be seen as the organisation which aided its demise.

WWW is already becoming a gangsters playground and we need to pull together!

Paypal play your part with the innocents.

Paypal would have paid as you requested via any subscriptions in your paypal account.

If they were set up via the small print when you signed up to a free trial that would be between you and the company you had the free trial with.

Hi kernowlass

Everything now OK - Avast have agreed to a refund. I still don't know for certain but I suspect a bit of a scam. If you call the Avast helpline you will be offered an option "REFUNDS", I think that says it all?

I've been an Avast Antivirus user for years and I'm used to the usual "You've 3.5m bad things on your PC - upgrade to Premium to get rid of them"; I have NEVER clicked on any such offer and I suspect they have initiated a programme of false claims hoping some will stick.

Thanks for your interest.
