Ok i currently have a claim going and paypal have sided with me , correctly. However its got to the point of the last 2 steps, items return and refund/case closed.
I have returned the faulty item and have given paypal the trackign information. It now states "awaiting other partys response" . Basically paypal are confirming with the seller his item has been returned. But nowere does it state how long this may take.
My question is, what happens if the seller doesnot confirm it?
Is it an open dispute forever more, as there seems to be no deadline for the seller to respond?
Or is the "other party" paypal? Maybe they are just taking there time to check the tracking information, but i doubt it because they have been very fast in there parts of the open claim so far.
Please post if you know whats happening in this situation. ATM im just guessing, Thanks.

Hi there Prince_Goro,
Firstly, if you have been asked to return an item to your seller in order to receive a full refund, you would have been asked to provide a tracking number to us through your account.
If you have already provided a tracking number through your account and this confirms that the item has been delivered to your sellers address, we should be able to have the case closed in your favour. If the transaction was over £150.00 GBP, we would require to see an online signature on the postal service website.
If you can see on the case that we are waiting for the other parties response, we would give the seller a few days after you provide tracking information to us to accept that they have received the item back from you. If they do this, the case would be closed automatically and the funds would be refunded.
If the tracking information shows the item has already been delivered back, please let us know and we should be able to have the case closed in your favour.

I am also having the same issue, however on both of my claims, both parties have not contacted paypal in any way what so ever, how long does PAYPAL leave it before the case is closed? As this is now wasting my time and I need the money part to pay for parts that do work!

Hey there,
Have you returned the item to the seller the same as above?
If so then we would have provided the seller with the tracking information that you have provided for the return of the item.
The seller will be asked to review it and if the item turns up to let us know or just issue the refund.
If the seller doesn't respond then keep an eye on the tracking yourself. As soon as you see it showing delivery back to the seller then contact PayPal and have it reviewed while you’re on the phone. You may be asked to provide the proof of postage if the tracking information doesn’t show where the item was delivered.
