On The 5th October I bought a Mobile Phone From Ebay,a China Seller,Bought And Paid Instantly,Next Day i Get a message from ebay loss prevention saying i should'nt go through with the transaction,Too Late,I Did The Day Before..So i went to find the ebay auction,it was gone, and the Seller was "No Longer a Registered User" i looked at his last feedback and he had 6 negatives saying he was a scammer !! so i immediately went to paypal and started a claim,Next Day I had a reply from paypal, the seller provided a tracking number,Then..the other day i had i card from royal mail saying they have a parcel for me that needs to be signed for,i thought yayy my phone,i went down and signed for it,it was from the seller, but it was'nt a box with a phone,it was a small envelope with a chinese coin in it,i've clearly been scammed
Soon as i got it i went to paypal and changed it from "item not recieved" and change it to "not as described" which has took me straight back to square one..to top it off,i got a message this morning from paypal saying if i want a refund i will have to send the "worthless piece of crap" back to the seller at my expence and provide tracking,it is'nt worth the expence of sending back,it needs to be thrown staight in the bin,its worthless trash !! its all wroong wrong wrong !!!! the scammer has covered all angles,he knows full well i will have to go through a painfull and drawn out process just to get my money back, and the address that they provided is probebly either a bogus address or an empty address,my piece of crap envelope with a piece of crap coin in will never be signed for..what aload of crap this whole thing is,i'm an innocent victim thats lost my money,YES MY MONEY,And i bet there is many other victims too,And now i have the double kick in the nutts now because i have to fight to get it back !!!,i dont know what to do now ??? i feel like clearing out my paypal account and never buy from ebay ever again !!!!!! buyer protection My Arse....

Have you *PHONED* customer service like you were advised to? E-mail can be a pain. Phone PayPal, provide the Claim #, explain that your police station does not issue crime reports but has provided their contact information for them to call and verify. Provide them with the number. Ask them to make documentation of your request and verify this has been made on your Claim before you hang up. Explain that time has almost expired on the Claim and that you would like to receive a call back by such-and-such a date to verify that they have called the police and obtained the information required.
Stop posting here asking for something to be done, because it isn't going to happen. You need to pick up the phone and call customer service. Otherwise, let it go.

Well Fellow Buyers..i finally got that email i was waiting for..but let me start by saying..
1: I SAW A PHONE,BUY IT NOW
2:CLICKED BUY IT NOW
3:RECIEVED A CHINESE COIN
4:COMPLAINED TO PAPAL,STARTED DISPUTE FOR CLAIM
And from start to finish all i ever got was hastle...I WAS THE INNOCENT ONE !!!!!!!!
Astonishingly,i lost my claim..
All i did was buy something on ebay, payed with paypal, and when i got conned, paypal treated me like the criminal, forcing me to prove my honesty, when i was the innocent buyer,i had concrete evidence,my claim was concrete, but they never once hastled the conn merchant to prove himself as a honest seller,so now i've lost !! so its official "Buy With Confidence" does'nt mean Jack "Buyers Protection" is just Words,it Not worth the words thats printed !! So Beware !! NEVER EVER EVER EVER trust ebay or paypal again..
AND As for SnowDrop..
Dont you Ever go telling me to do this and do that, this is'nt happening to you is it ????????? its happening to me,i should'nt have to run around half of england gathering evidence to prove my case,i did what i was asked to do,i was asked to go to the police station,i did !!!! why should i have to picking up the phone, trying to explain myself, trying to prove i'm innocent..that seller has had me out of my money and walked off laughing,Got away with it scot free, and he's conned 6 other people,Go check his Feedback,Go contact All the other innocent people He's conned !!! Soo are they Making it up aswell are they ?????????? are they Guilty until proven innocent ???
Picture this..
i walk up to you in the street, smack you in the face and take your wallet, then you go to the police, but the police ask you to prove that you have been robbed..you cant,so i walk off with your money laughing and theres nothing you can do about it,Does that sound good to you ???? well thats whats happened to me,and you tell me to let it go ??
silly person..i hope you all choke on my money !!! thanks for nothing.....

Paul,
Firstly, you need to calm down. I have been **bleep**ed over by numerous buyers on eBay, so don't get me started. I absolutely understand how frustrating it is.
"Dont you Ever go telling me to do this and do that, this is'nt happening to you is it ????????? its happening to me,i should'nt have to run around half of england gathering evidence to prove my case,i did what i was asked to do,i was asked to go to the police station,i did !!!! why should i have to picking up the phone, trying to explain myself, trying to prove i'm innocent.."
I did not tell you to just let it go. I explained to you that no one here can help you any more than they already have and that if you want to get your money back, you need to phone PayPal and directly speak with customer service and provide them with the phone number of the police station and the information they need to look into this for you. This doesn't require you to "run around all of England." You already made the effort to go to the police station and this last step is relatively minor and simple and would result in your getting your money back, so I don't understand why you've refused to do it. If you're going to refuse to take such a simple step, THEN it would be in your best interest to just let it go because there's not a lot to complain about if you aren't willing to make a phone call.
Obviously, saying you went to the police station doesn't prove to PayPal much of anything. They need the phone number to confirm what you've said.
You have to understand that if they did not require some sort of proof, that anyone could get their item then file a claim, say they went to the police, and ask for their money back.
At the same time, I think a tracking number doesn't prove much of anything for the reasons you stated; however, that's about as much evidence as a seller could possibly provide. However, I would have suggested also looking up the tracking number in your postal system and the system of the origin country, as it will generally state the type of package being sent. In this case, it would show an envelope/letter being sent which obviously could not have contained the item you actually bought.
I never said you were making anything up. You're acting hostile and irrational.

You might also be able to appeal your case. But if you do so then be prepared to call up customer service and provide them with the police information required. Also look up the tracking number for the parcel type like I suggested.
