Deferred dispute

Hello everyone, I live in UK and sold a motorcycle helmet which had had less than 500 miles of use and was as brand new (sold as used with minor to no marks) and posted a dozen pics in hd of the helmet. It was £135.00 new and I sold it £50+£10 postage. This was on 30th January this year and buyer received it on 31st January. Yesterday (4th may) a full 93 days after sale, the buyer had the ordacity to try and open a claim thru pp describing item as "not as described" and externally broken and internally broken and a "substitute" What the hell is this guy on? The helmet was EXACTLY as described and I know he is lying! My question is now though that pp have said they will keep this on file even though they do not want my side of the story. I have been selling stuff for 8 years now using pp and have NEVER had a complaint until this moron makes one. My guess is he's crashed his moped and totalled the helmet and is now trying to pull a fast one. However could this still have any repercussions on me? Thanks everyone in advance. Andrew.

Hi Gusferlus,

When a buyer has a dispute with an item they are provided 45 days from the date of the transaction before a claim can be filed. If they file a claim after this time the dispute will be noted on your account however it will not be investigated by PayPal.

This would not have a negative effect on your account however if we did see a lot of these cases then we may need to review them further. If this is the only one then you will have nothing to worry about.

I hope this helps and thanks for posting
