hi, i sold an item on ebay and the buyer collected and checked item and took it home, he paid via paypal and a week later he messages me saying its all broke!! and then starts blabbing out emails that i have good feedback and he doesnt want to send the item back but i should refund him maybe £60 !?!?! this is crazy i have reported him to ebay and blocked him but now i am worried he is going to rip me off and milk me for money via paypal. i have saved all his messages. in one of them he stated one thing was broke and i checked the pictures i put on ebay listing and it shows the part intact and again he checked it all when he collected so what can i do about all this apart from what i have done and reported to ebay for trying to blackmail me?

NEVER ever accept paypal for a collection item. There is no seller protection.
If your buyer files a dispute for non receipt of item then he will get a full refund as you won't be able to prove with a tracking number that he RECEIVED the item.
That is why ebay allow you to list "cash on collection" only on items that are collected.
If i list cash on collection and a buyer uses paypal then i just refund and remind them it is cash only.
Just hope your buyer does not file a dispute for non receipt.
However as for your feedback does the occasional odd red dot on a website really affect your sales that much??
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

hi, i am not a seller as such i mainly buy with ebay i only have 150 odd feedback. the buyer has stated in emails on ebay he has item but that is the problem also. he collected it and inspected it and took it away and 7 days later is spinning a story and asking for money to stop him leaving me feedback. he keeps stating he doesnt want to send it back but wants a certain amount of money to stop him going through ebay/paypal.

i am hoping this is solved after words with the buyer. he does not live far from me so to try and rip and go through with ripping me off is just foolish. i think with this and reading all the other posts on forum i will not sell on ebay again as the set up is a joke and to think sellers get charged by paypal for what? to have them help buyers rip of sellers with the one sided view on buying and selling. it sticks out like a sore thumb that paypal is all for buyers and not sellers and i dont need no mod telling me different to what i read on here. gumtree and cash is where i will be selling anything in the future. its honest and face to face.
