I looked at my bank account and I was overdrawn due to a direct debit taken..it read..direct debit paypal payme..I've phoned paypal who are 100% certain it isn't a transaction is have made nor have paypal taken it themselves. There is nothing in my activity to say I've purchased something for the amount taken. Has anyone else experienced this. And do you think it could be fraud. I'm going to the bank first thing to see if anything can be done. But like I say paypal are saying 100 % certain they haven't debited it from the account. Also my eBay fee is already paid and I haven't sent any e-cheques either.

I recently opened a thread about a similar instance. You should head to your bank or building society (whichever is affected) and ask to manage your direct debit set ups and transactions. On my list, PayPal was clearly labelled. The 'merchant voucher' number that should appear on your bank statements for these unwarranted transactions will likely be '4424' - ironically the security number that PayPal asked me to confirm (the idiots). Ask to manage your direct debits and cancel the direct debit to PayPal. Before you fo this, it is best to head onto your PayPal account to remove any card and bank details to help prevent this ridiculous conpany from reinstating the direct debit without your consent.
