Lost Delivery by Hermes

Hermes have admitted that they have lost a package but their only advice to me is to contact the shipper.  I've pointed out to them that THEY ARE the shipper but have had no response to my last messages.  I know that the seller despatched the parcel as I tracked it all the way through to getting a message from Hermes that the package had been delivered, but it was definitely not delivered to my address. I feel it should be Hermes that refunds the cost of the goods rather than either the seller or Paypal, but I'm not getting any satisfactory response from them.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance 🙂

Contact Hermes again and state that you will be filing a small claims court action for non delivery and the cost of the item if you do not receive a full refund.

Sometimes that threat will work but read through these first to see if you are covered if you do actually want to proceed.

Thanks for this - I think as it's the seller who paid Hermes to do the delivery that the claim should maybe come from them?  I've only just let the seller know about the problem with the failed delivery, so hopefully they will respond to me.  Thanks again!

Yes they may be able to chase Hermes but to be honest if the seller has a tracking number that proves delivery of the item to you then they don't have to do anything and any dispute would probably be found in their favour.

Good luck.

Yes - I agree with you and I've just spoken with ebay and they seem fairly sure that Hermes should refund the seller and either they or ebay will refund me.

I'm sure it will get resolved one way or the other :-). Tanks again!
