PayPal won't let me add my debit card

I'm trying to add another debit card to my PayPal account and it all seems to work fine, the card shows up in my 'wallet' but then a few minutes later it disappears.

I tried adding it whilst making a payment on eBay (by clicking change payment method then add new card) but that gave me a message saying 'card declined'. I have more than enough money in my account and there's nothing wrong with the card itself because I 've just used it today in Tesco and also on Amazon.

I'm confused as to what on earth could be causing this?!

@kt33

Sounds as if it may be a card that paypal don't accept ??

It's a Santander Visa debit. I have two identical cards for two identical current accounts (a joint account and my own account) and I've never had any problems with the other one

Hi kt33,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community Forum!

I’m sorry to hear this.

If a card gets declined it means that the bank is not allowing the temporary authorisation charge. I would recommend you ensuring that the card is enabled for online and international payments and that you have sufficient funds in the card/bank account’s balance. It would also be recommended to try adding and verifying the card via your PayPal Wallet before initiating the payment.

Regrettably we can’t see your account but we also provide support via Live Chat (http://ow.ly/ZT3I0) and via Social Media. You can contact us directly on Twitter @AskPayPal or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK.

Hope it helps.
