I can definitely confirm that the issue is caused by having an active security key. Once I deactivated it in my profile online, I was able to login again using the mobile app. Re-activating the key made the app break again. So it seems there is a bug with the app not being able to authenticate if a user has a security key setup.
This issue is not limited to Samsung phones, we also duplicated it on a Motorola Razor on Paypla app version 5.4.3 as well
Let's get this fixed, so we can have the extra verification security re-enabled.

Have tried removing the app, then turning off your phone, turn it back on and reinstalling the app?

I have the same problem - started only after I got an update from Samsung Apps (seems to be a different version thatn what is on Play store) - it installed and not I cannot login. Tried to uninstall both from Samsung apps and play store, reinstall, clear RAM, Data/Cache etc - no joy.

Hi Chief94,
I am sorry to hear that you have been having issues logging in using our PayPal App. Can you try logging in using your internet browser on your phone to see if that works and let us know how you get on.
Thanks
Paula

I have no problem logging in thru any web interface either on my mobile or desktop/tablet. It's only the PayPal app that does not work.

I have the same exact issue on my Galaxy S5 since last week. I have no problem logging in through a web browser into Paypal - in fact had to do it to create an account on this forum to post this message. I have SMS notification/verification enabled for all Paypal logins. Can this be the issue that is causing the new Paypal app to not work ? I have version 5.4.3
A coworker has the same version and has no issue logging in but does not have SMS verification turned on.

Exactly as ClassicalSax describes - I concur. After deactivating my Security Key, I am able to login to PayPal with the app!
Thanks!
