Hi, i hope someone can help me. I have recently sold an expensive item to a buyer in India. He has agreed the very high postage costs. What worries me is, can he retract/cancel his payment once i have posted the item?

Also what happens if he says he hasn't received it? For some reson i feel nervous about this transaction.

Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you

Hi there Rainbowk8,

To be honest, a customer does have the ability to open a dispute for up to 45 days from when the payment has been sent through their PayPal account. My best advice would be to try and do as much in order to be covered under our Seller Protection Policy. This would result in you receiving a reimbursment in the event of the payment getting refunded back to your buyers account.

For more information on this, you can click here.

I hope this helps,

David.

As a power seller on Ebay I have never had any problems with Pay-pal until the last 2 weeks.  I have had 7 payment reversals!!!!  The thing is the reversal is not always immediate and I have posted orders out.. I therefore have to put in a claim for reimbersement. Extra hassle I could do without!!!!

All the payments came from mobile phones, when I contacted the customers, most  were able to make another payment from a computer - all very odd.

My advice to you would be to wait at least 3 days after payment, before posting anything out.  Check your Pay-pal A/C that the payment has not been reversed..
