Why doesn't PayPal Shipping include the option for Priority Mail SMALL FLAT-RATE Boxes on the shipping options for USPS?
I mail small items and will be almost exclusively using the SMALL Priority Flat-Rate Box.
The only current option for a Priority Flat-Rate Box is "Medium" through the PayPal Shipping Center. So, my only current option is to choose, "Priority Mail", then choose "Package", then enter the dimensions, and ship, which can end up costing more than the flat rate.
THE PROBLEM is that the package is subject to weight and zoning, and can cost more than the Flat-Rate. I choose to use PayPal for the convenience of it being connected to Ebay, and also for the free Delivery Confirmation.
My 2nd PROBLEM is that if I ship directly through the USPS website, it costs more, because I have to pay for the Del. Confirmation.
I'm stuck....please help.
Thanks!!!

Ditto, I went to use their shipping service for a SMALL flat rate box and it is not an option. It does not make sense when simply they would need to update a few fields in a database.

Hey, so I had this same problem and there is now a solution: opt in to printing labels on ebay. I e-mailed them about this and I'll post the directions below. You can print the labels through e-bay, and granted it isn't as easy as the multi-order shipping for a lot of items, but it's very easy (pretty much one click once you get it set up) and it's only $4.85 with free deliery confirmation.
1. Log in to your eBay account and click "Account."
2. Click "Site Preferences" and locate the "Selling preferences"
section.
3. Under Shipping preferences click "Show."
4. Check the "Yes" box next to "Pay for shipping and print USPS
labels on eBay."
5. Click "Apply."
2. Create your label:
1. Now click "Activity" and then click "Sold" on the left side of the
page.
2. Select the check box next to each item you want to ship.
3. Click the "Print Shipping Label button." The "Pay for shipping and
print your label" page appears.
4. Fill out the information on the shipping label.
5. Review your label information on the Print Label Review page. If
needed, click the Change button and make any changes. If you're shipping
internationally, follow the steps to fill those out.
3. Pay and print your label:
1. Click the "Pay and Print button."
2. Click "OK" in your Print box pop-up, and your shipping label will
print.
3. On the confirmation page:
a. If you don’t have a PayPal billing agreement, you'll be asked to log
in to PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account, you'll need to create
one.
b. If you have a PayPal billing agreement, you won't be asked to log in
to PayPal and will be billed automatically.

I tried the instructions that you provided and "Pay for shipping and print USPS labels on eBay" is not available on my shipping preferences page.

The Solution posted earlier isn't working for me. I don't have the option "Pay for shipping and print USPS labels on eBay" in my Shipping Preferences. As chelly above stated, there is no such option....

I did hear back from paypal and they told me to use the medium flat rate shipping, which is silly because what moron would pay twice as much as they need to. They also said:
"However, early this fall, sellers will be able to create labels directly from their eBay account which will include all 3 Flat Rate Box options". Which is weird because I'm sure the option was there at some earlier point and ebay took it off because they didn't want people to have that option right now - for some reason. I talked to my buddy at the post office and he doesn't have a clue why either. I guess if they would be honest and tell the reason why it would help a bit.

I just signed up for the PayPal community just to ask this very question.
I was beating my brains out trying to pay for a Small Flat Rate box through ebay and just could not figure it out.
Now I see tons of people with the same problem makes me feel not so much like a dummy :).
I'll have to take this box to the Post Office to pay I guess.

And there should be a warning for international shipments that the flat rate envelope and small flat rate box are not trackable and therefor a risk to the seller. They may be worth the risk, but finding out after years of shipping that they offer no protection was a real annoyance.

I just shipped something to UK in a small flat rate box and was able to track the package via customs form number. I believe that all international shipments have to be done at the USPS office to fill out the forms??
Thanks!!
