Why is PayPal so difficult?

Add the following email I received today to the long list of email complaints I get from my clients about their PayPal experience:
----------------------------------------------------------
The paypal issues include the following
Great difficulty understanding and getting the customer service agent to understand me - I repeatedly asked him to slow down his speech so that I could understand him (I also slowed mine down). His attitude was not what I would expect from a customer service agent - it was more a 'take it or leave it' approach, rather than trying to understand my issues and helping to solve them.
The web pages were not easy to navigate - I was advised to do something to lift a restriction - but the relevant pages did not contain the words I was told to click on to try to execute that option.
Web page instructions are somewhat vague - not precise enough to make the transaction easy.
For some reason I seemed to be routed in loops from one page to another and back again
They do not seem to have a system that is easy to use if one does not have electronic access to bank accounts - which I don't have for security reasons.
If I ever had an alternative option to paypal for payment I would choose it

I get LOTS of similar email and it is so frustrating. Given the high fees charged, we should have a better web site.

Not defending PayPal in any way but, what are you doing to help your clients, per your post, it would appear that you could also help them. It looks like your clients if they are also paying you for services need some one-on-one help.

Difficult? Never found it anything but simple and useful. Then again some people text while driving, I guess it depends on the intelligence of the individual.

I have had a most frustrating experience with a paypal customer rep
I was trying to open a business acct in addition to my personal acct and the poor woman was totally incompetent and would not try to understand my question
I gave up with her and gave it an other try later but then it was too late and i shall have to wait until monday

PayPal is not perfect and is not a one size solution for everyone. If the shoe brand does not fit, find another as there are other brands. That what we do.

Hello Sjier.....thanks for your suggestion. Do you have a recommendation on another brand to use? I would *love* to find a better shoe!

As Sellers of eBay we are the true customers of Paypal as ALL fees are generated by our transactions. I find I am treated like an inconvenience and nicely dismissed when I finally make contact with an agent.
The automated system has been created to keep contact with an "agent" (i.e. cost effective associate in India) to a minimum or not at all. Paypal's automated system makes most U.S. bank systems look user friendly.
I do have to hand it to eBay and Paypal as they train their reps very well. Meaning, they always remain calm and do their best to NOT answer you question or resolve your issue but in a manner that is oh-so-sweet. You are about to end the call and realize nothing got resolved and they genuinely act like they have done you this great service. "Anything else I can assist you with?" You didn't help me with my first issue!
I'm tired of generating Paypal money and receiving subpar service.
