Confirmation code not appearing on Santander account

We have switched from a Barclays account to a Santander account and I'm trying to withdraw funds.
I have tried to link my new account three times but have never seen any codes from Paypal. What is going on? I need to be able to eat, pay rent etc. with my earnings.
Also, why is Paypal so very expensive?

Thanks for posting on the Community Forum and sorry to hear about this.
Generally, when you request a confirmation code, it will show on your bank statement within 2-3 working days. If you're still not seeing it, you can re-request that it be sent by following the steps below:
- Go to www.paypal.com/uk and log in to your account.
- Click Profile near the top of the page.
- Select My money.
- Beside 'Bank accounts' click Update.
- Select the desired bank account and click Confirm.
- Click Continue, and review and submit the Direct Debit details. (If the bank account is a business account or more than one person is required to authorise debits, you must print and sign a paper Bank Funding Instruction and post it to the address provided.)

It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
- Identity confirmed but message to resolve it still appears in Adding and updating info
- Can't confirm my bank account as no deposit / code appears in my bank account when requested in Limits and verification
- Verification transaction never appears on my Santander online / paper transaction in Limits and verification
- Card confirmation code does not appear in my bank statement in Limits and verification
