Hello,
today I recieved mail from paypal that I paid 6.87 GBP to a merchant Parcel Monkey Ltd. I never paid for this!!!
Should I just regard this as a spam or investigate how is it possible that someone is using my email address telling me that I paid for something which I never did?

Completely ignore the email and delete it. I have had the same email directed at two seperate email accounts. The only place where i have used those email accounts is on a Free Ad sites for my work in digital marketing.
SO AVOID ITS PHISHING "You sent a payment of 6.87 GBP to Parcel Monkey Ltd"
This will not have any bearing on the company Parcel Monkey Ltd or indeed the professional services they offer.

Hey there hanasime, phishing emails are fake emails that attempt to collect your personal and financial information. These fake emails often link to illegitimate (spoof) websites that encourage you to enter personal information (for example, credit card numbers, passport or driver’s licence number, and account passwords).
You’ll know that an email is not from PayPal when:
- The email uses a generic greeting like ‘Dear user’ or ‘Hello, PayPal member.’ We always address you by your first name and last name or the business name on your PayPal account.
- The email requests financial and other personal information. For example, an email from PayPal never asks for the numbers of your bank account, debit or credit card, or driver’s license. We also don’t request your email addresses, your full name, your account password, or the answers to your PayPal security questions.
- The email includes an attachment, a software update to install on your computer, or a hyperlink.
If you think you’ve received a phishing email, forward it to spoof@paypal.com. Then delete the fake email from your inbox.

Argh!
This morning I had an email asking for me to cancel an unauthorised payment for £179 GBP to rapid shre online, I have forwarded this to spoof@paypal.com and do i just delete this email and not worry they have taken any money? I haven't gone into the email in case it put a virus on my computer, have suffered fraud before and find these mails so worrying!

Hi dcautos,
I would suggest that once you have forwarded the email to spoof@paypal.com then I would suggest deleting the email. I would also advise logging in to your PayPal account directly www.paypal.co.uk and checking your recent transaction just to be sure.
Thanks
Paula

Hi there Rerah,
Yes you are right, you have to be careful!
Phishing emails are fake emails that attempt to collect your personal and financial information.

- The email includes an attachment, a software update to install on your computer, or a hyperlink.
If you think you’ve received a phishing email, forward it to spoof@paypal.com. Then delete the fake email from your inbox.
Thanks for posting!
