Cannot receive validation code/security code from Paypal with iD Mobile

Hello all

I believe this is an old topic but I have yet to see a resolution which works for me.

Recently changed to iD Mobile (mistake?) and could not receive Paypal Account Log-in code for two factor authentication.  OTP's from other organisations received without issue.

Ended up on Paypal's advice and with Paypal's assistance closing account (after 20 years) and opening a new one using my wife's phone number (different network) - not ideal!  No two factor authentication yet-daren't risk it!  I cannot change to my number because Paypal sends a validation code which I

cannot receive!

Sessions with iD Mobile Customer services have proved fruitless so far and Formal Complaint lodged - not hopeful.   With Google search I have noted others with this issue but going back several years but allegedly resolved via PM from iD Mobile.

If it's such a long standing issue I cannot understand why either Paypal or iD Mobile have not resolved it - perhaps I am being naive?  I don't have any idea where the problems originates -Paypal or iD Mobile.

Can any body help/suggest a solution?  Thank you.

My issue was resolved by the network provider iDmobile. Apparently it is a network issue.

Hi @drrbr1

Thank you for visiting the PayPal Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear you're unable to login to your account. As your authenticator app provider (iD Mobile) was not able to assist you. I'd first recommend reviewing the troubleshooting steps in the following Help Center articles: What can I do if I can't log in? and I forgot my password and how do I reset it?

In the future, if you do not want to run into this issue, you can turn off this feature of two-step authentication. If you're still running into issues after that, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support teams by clicking '
Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal page.

I hope that helps!

Hi Mujahid7

Thank you fror your reply.

However,  my current situation is as follows:

1.   Paypal Customer Services advised that I had to close my long standing (20 years) Payapal account and open a new one with a different mobile number.  This I did using my wife's mobile number which is on a different network and the only other number avaiable.   This is not ideal!  No two factor authorisation has been activated.

2.  I have tried to  add/change to my mobile number in the account but Paypal sends a Validation Code which I cannot receive, so I am stuck with my wife's number.

3.  iD Mobile Complaints were in touch yesterday and have promised a further response in the next 48/72hours.  We shall see.

i am also not able to receive any 6 digit authentication code by sms/text on cellphone or mobile  (to pay or to login)  since  early hours of this morning.  Last known date it was working / last payment made was on 6 december or thereabout,  it is multiple reports, and  multi region.  please could you  assist us or for now kindly advise if it is under investigation and how to remove 2fa if password reset requirews me to enter a 2fa code 😞

i am deeply concerned that there has been no replies on this issue, from support and its over 2 days and middle of week  (well not now)>  also worried that most teams probably already on vacation, back after new years some time - if this is the case is there anyone on skeleton crew that can confirm

thank you to you all, and seasons greetings & blessings

I am pleased to hear your problem solved how ever still manny people from variety of networks and countries facing problem right now at this time, could it be all the networks at once, is there any technical information or description IDMOBILE provided  that you could maybe share or could be used maybe to instruct our guys, cause all calls to network provider and tests they ran came out normal, and theyu cannot find problem. Is there such a thing as spambox for sms, ios there an expired ssl certificate somewhere that is causing all th9is, i know in my own business there is many servers running old cpanekl and other free Certbot that completely failed to update, so u have all these domains that give ssl and security errors. like alot .  Just pulling ideas ifrom air here cause still no response on this from PP and some have had it since monday ? Sorry but I cannot help further. I contacted iDmobile and after several attempts they notified me that the issue was resolved and it has been since.
