I see that you're looking for assistance changing your nickname, and I'd like to help resolve the situation and the frustration you're experiencing. There are a couple of things your request could mean, so let me offer assistance in each case.
If you're looking to change your Community Forum username, which is the one that is displayed when you post here in the community, please click the 3 dots above this post and select "report inappropriate content" - even though you are not, in this case, reporting something inappropriate, it's how you can make a request that our moderators can review, to change your username for you. Include your desired new username (or better yet, three choices for a new username in case the one that you want is taken). Note: this process is only for changes to your Community Forum username, not your PayPal payment username.
If you're looking to change only the username at which you get paid (which is also your paypal.me name), then you will have to contact Customer Service. You can find your contact options by clicking Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website. Alternatively, you can instead reach out by PM on Facebook or DM on Twitter.
