I live in Oman, with an Omani phone, but Paypal doesn't recognise number

Hi!
I'm trying to activate 2-step verification but when I input my mobile number Paypal tells me it is invalid.
My account is registered in Oman and I have an Omani phone number.
Bizarrely, I had just registered the phone number and received a confirmation code a few minutes before attempting to activate the security option and - no problems.
Is this a common problem?

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues inputting your mobile number. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and history to see if that does the trick? If you're still running into issues after that, I'd recommend trying to activate 2-step verification through another device.
