If I'm starting a Youtube Channel with Paypal set up, should I create a new Paypal Account?

I'm going to be starting a YouTube channel where I link my PayPal if anyone would like to donate/support me. However, my current/existing Paypal account has a different username and name than my intended YouTube Channel and I'd like my username to reflect my YouTube channel. Since I can't change my username, is the best thing to do to make a new PayPal account with the same bank information? Or should I just use the existing account even though the account info will not reflect my YouTube channel?

Hello @ThatAction. Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting. 

If you're a merchant, you can use a Business account to sell and receive donations online under your business name. We may ask you to verify this business account in the future with business documents but you can create the account as an 'Individual' business owner. When you create the business account, you can enter your YouTube username in the Business name field.

Here's how to upgrade from a Personal account to a Business account:

1. Click the Settings icon next to "Log out."
2. Under "Account options," click Upgrade to a business account.
3. Enter your business information.
4. Tick the box to say that you have read and agree to the terms & conditions.
5. Click Agree and Upgrade Account.
6. Select your business type and click Continue.
7. Enter all of the information on the "Tell us about your business" page, then click Submit.

Your PayPal account name must be in your legal name. We may ask you to identity this at any time with a photo ID so do not create an account in an alias or user name as this account could become limited of its use. You can still use your personal account to receive donations. Check the business account to see if this might be an option you would like to explore.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I'm not sure if I necessarily need a business account as my plan is more to just provide my paypal in the case of someone wanting to donate. I don't expect it to happen much or often. 

I just want someway of having my paypal username reflective of my youtube channel name since my existing Paypal account has a different username. In this case, would I need to create a new paypal account and link it to the same banking information?
