Messenger Notifications Attachment Unavailable

I’ve recently had 3 notifications from PayPal via Messenger but I can’t open them and the just say “attachment unavailable: this attachment may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it.” Any ideas how to fix this issue because everything I’ve read suggests this is a PayPal issue, not something to do with my settings. I’ve previously had Messenger notifications just fine. Thank you 😊

I also have this issue. I wonder if it’s to do with me disabling my Facebook account as messenger and Facebook may be linked. Be interesting to know if all others in this thread also deleted or suspended or changed something with their Facebook account recently??

Mine started this issue months ago as well. I haven’t changed anything. No reply from PayPal either. Very frustrating!!

Blocked PayPAL on Facebook and Messenger: problem solved.

There is no fix for this issue, so I have turned off messenger notifications from paypal in the paypal app (https://www.paypal.com/social/messenger/notifications leave notification preferences unchecked) and I now just get notification of payments through the paypal app on my phone.

I tried to follow Paypal's advice, ie un-checking the box in Paypal/Settings/Notifications but it didn't let me. This is most infuriating.

I have also had this problem since August 21 and have been told by PayPal that it is an issue with Messenger but I cant see why.

 

I have not changed any settings.

 

Have you had  a solution given to you yet?
