Problems with adding a new phone number to my PayPal account.

I get an error when I try to add a new phone number. I've tried updating my old phone number, and so to do that I should add a new number and make it the primary one, and then remove the old phone number.

 

The problem I am facing, though, is that when I add my new phone number to my profile, I get an error telling me: "Sorry, we are not able to process your request. Please try again later." I've tried to do the same thing on the mobile app, but there I get: "Please check your entries and try again." I am sure the phone number is correct, but for some reason, I just can't add it. (I can call and receive calls on that number, and it hasn't been a problem on any website.)

 

Can someone help me with this problem? And thank you.

Is it a mobile number registered in your country and also registered in your name?

Yes, it is. And I have contacted the PayPal Twitter account who told me that this problem can be solved when you try to add a phone number after 24 hours. I tried doing just that, and had the exact same error telling me that "Sorry, we are not able to process your request. Please try again later."

 

What do you recommend that I do? And thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it.

I'm sorry to hear of the error encountered when trying to add another phone number. If the phone number has the correct country code that matches the country that your account is registered in and there is no limitation on the account, the number should be able to be added. Since it is not, Customer Service would need to be contacted again. If they are unable to determine the cause of the issue, please ask that they open a request to have the situation looked at by technicians. This should be examined, especially if it comes up that other people are having the same issue, which can only be determined if the issue is reported.
