What is "PayPal Shopping" under Permissions?

Today when making a purchase via the PayPal app on my iPhone (latest app version,) the app automatically logged me in to my PayPal account, saying "we recognize this device." I don't want that to happen, ever. I want to always have to use my password. (The merchant did not have my info saved, because this is the first time I've shopped with that merchant.)
I went to my settings. As always, the "security" tab was blank. PayPal needs to fix this! Under "Permissions you've given," I see PayPal Shopping. I don't know if this permissions group applies to PayPal in general, or to a specific merchant. On the list of things I'm letting "them" (Paypal's words, not mine) see is "email verified." But it also says "merchant logo," which makes me think that this tab is all about selling things. (I'm not a merchant.)
What do I have to do to stop automatic log-in on my phone? I've stopped it before, but I think that was on the website.

PayPal changed something in how Log in works. PayPal will remember your device after logging in a few times. You get sent an email about this when it happens so check that for more information. From this email you can disable this functionality and you’ll have to do a quick security check aside from entering password on purchases and viewing/accessing the account. If you leave the feature on, you’ll still have to log in with password to view your account in general but not so much on purchases as PayPal will remember your device for security.
Do try the Security Settings via browser if you haven’t already, and adjust the Manage Your Logins and Turn off Auto Login settings if they are not appearing in the app.
I noticed that if the feature is turned on, the Auto Login setting is set to Off.
”PayPal Shopping” pertains to cart behavior on websites that accepts PayPal. It remembers things left in the shopping cart and exclusive offers. If you do not want your carts remembered or exclusive offers, you can rescind the permission. To enable it, click PayPal Shopping setting in the Data and Privacy page where “Permissions you’ve given” setting is.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
