Hi all, Wanted to buy some crypto but the PayPal app kept stating that something went wrong every time. So I thought if I had an actual balance instead of trying to buy from my bank then it would let me. I requested the funds to be sent from my bank, which stated it wouldn’t be until the 12th of July, which seemed very long as it used to be instant. I have just received an email with no design behind it, just plain text. Stating that I have requested a withdrawal and it would take until the 12th of July. It was from [removed], even when clicking the address it comes up with that. And I read that only emails from PayPal.com are valid. So I asked support on the app and it verified that it was not a legitimate email. Here are the contents: Hi Billy [removed], We're processing your request to transfer money to your PayPal account from your bank account ending in [removed]. Processing usually takes 5-7 working days but may vary by bank. We estimate that this money will be deposited in your PayPal account by 11-Jul-2023. We'll notify you by email if we have any problems processing your request. Not sure why you received this email? What concerns me most that if it is a phishing email, it turned up in my inbox not my junk folder. And if it is not, why would the PayPal chat it say that it is.

Hello @BillWill30

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear there's been some confusion recently over a recent email and a transfer to your PayPal account. In regard to the transfer time-frame to add funds to PayPal, it does normally take around 3 working days to complete, but can take up to 7 if there's an issue or some kind of hold-up with the bank. With that in mind, and based on the information you've provided here, it sounds like that email you received is legitimate. However, here's a great Help Center article on How to spot fake, phishing, or fraudulent emails.

In regard to your concern purchasing Crypto, if you're still having issues after those funds load in your account on the 12th, I'd recommend trying the steps in this Help Center article on Payment Declines before contacting Customer Service.

I hope that helps!
