If you have been told your Paypal account has been permanently limited then Paypal tends to hold any funds for 180 days. This is the same time frame that buyers have to open Paypal disputes.

If no disputes are opened in 180 days then normally you are allowed to withdraw the funds. That is as long as you are over 18, account is in your legal name and the account is registered in the country where you reside.

However you have to wait until you receive the Paypal email citing you are now eligible to withdraw those funds.

Sometimes they confiscate funds if you have violated their acceptable use policy.

Paypal also may request further documentation from you before you can withdraw those funds.

Mine has been restricted since Feb of 2024 and they refuse to allow me to transfer my funds out as well. It looks like PayPal may be holding consumers money and collecting interest on it illegally. They restricted mine because a company placed a filing on my account and PayPal allowed them to do so even though this company purchases future receipts of businesses and my account is a personal account not a business account and I am not an LLC. The company that placed the filing has the wrong person. I would like to know how they can get away with this practice. I reported them to the federal consumers association and I am hoping to get my money back soon. I hope they read this too because they should not treat their customers like this. It’s wrong. They need to pay attention to who they allow to place filings on other people’s money. They obviously do not care because it’s not money they work for. I have had it. Give people their money PayPal you should not do your customers like this. It’s ridiculous

You don't get your account back after 180 days as its a permanent ban.

The 180 days only applies to the time after which you may be able to withdraw any funds in that account.

Good luck with that. PayPal has held my money for over 7 months and they still refuse to remove the restriction. Even though the company that placed the filing on my account has not taken the money. They haven’t taken it because they know they legally can not. They placed a restriction for a business on a personal account. PayPal needs to stop trying to play like they are debt collectors themselves and leave their customers money alone. I think they have some type of agreement with these companies that try to take peoples money without verifying the details are correct. I am obviously not an llc company my account is a personal account. I would recommend you report PayPal to the federal consumers protection agency and file report with the better business bureau. Maybe once everyone starts letting the federal government know what PayPal is doing then maybe they will stop this nonsense. I bet they do not pay their customers any interest on their money after holding it for months at a time. I can guarantee they receive interest on our money though. Thieves that is what they are
