Hi,
I'm a British citizen, but not resident in the UK, so don't have the local address proof needed to let me open up a PayPal Business Account in the UK.
Could I instead open a PayPal Business account in the country I am resident (Hong Kong), and us it as a payment gateway to accept payments with my UK online store? Or would such an account only work for Hong Kong?
Kind regards,
Steve.

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to close your old Paypal account and open a new Paypal account registered in the country where you now live. You would then need to add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks Kernowlass,
Understood I need to open a PayPal account in my country of residence, I guess to meet KYC requirements.
By my main question is; if I open a Hong Kong PayPal account, can it be used to accept payments on my UK-based online store?

- Uk paypal Business account for non UK Residents - How? in Managing Account
- Receiving Funds :( in Transactions
- What does this mean? ''the country you're trying to send money to can't receive the payment'' in Transactions
- Positive balance but says it's negative in Managing Account
