My actual residency is in Taiwan and I am about to register a company in Estonia through their e-residency system. Is it possible to create a PayPal business account (in Taiwan) for my new company and accept payments?

Paypal is country specific so you have to open a paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

Thank you for the quick reply. It means I need to open the PayPal account in Estonia I guess. My (e-)residency will be there as well as a bank account, address, etc. Although my actual physical residency is in Taiwan. Is it correct?

You can open an Estonian one if you live in  Estonia.

If I have to live in Estonia what is the point of the e-residency program?

Yep just been reading up on this, I don't know enough about the e-residency programme so your best bet is to wait for a moderator to add to this thread.

Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting PayPal's Community Forum! Thank you @kernowlass for your help on this thread. We really appreciate your time and expertise.

@epsi772, welcome! At this time, PayPal does not offer any kind of e-residency program. If you currently reside in Estonia, then you would need to open an Estonian PayPal account as Kernowlass has clarified.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause,
