Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile.

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

Sounds as if you have moved countries?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

Hi

I've been trying to report a fraud on me by a Chinese Company on Paypal. I cant login to Paypal because after I correctly enter my U/N and Password, the system wants to send me a message to an old and outdated number. That number no longer exists. There is no way to specify my new Mobile number. Login hinges on Paypal sending a message to the wrong  number  I listed years ago.

My only other option (I think) is to call Paypal in the US. I tried that but was left waiting over 5 minutes on an international call from South Africa.

I've gone through all the suggestions by the Paypal community to login but none of them work.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Never mind. It looks as though I DID write the number down on an old scrap of paper that I've just came across after months of searching. I'll give PayPal a call and hopefully I'll be able to resolve this.
