I have changed phone number in my account. But when I try to login security code goes to old number. Same as security call. Changed it multiple times, verified it, deleted old number I did all I can. Still goes to old number.

Hey @Tirot

For a text or call verification code, the phone number's contract/account with your mobile carrier must be under your name. If your mobile contract is under a family member or friend's name, your phone number may not be sufficient for verification. I'm sorry if this causes an inconvenience!

All my phone numbers are under my name. And due to Covid19 Paypal closed their Call Center Help Line. Now what?

Same thing happened to me when I changed my phone # last week.

MY SOLUTION (requires access to your old phone #): I logged into their website vs the app & clicked thru the settings. I had changed the phone # in my profile info (and it still shows my new number). BUT — You need to CHANGE THE 2-STEP VERIFICATION setting to the new number. It still had my old # in this section.

IMPORTANT: You have to have access to your OLD # to update this section. It will text a code to the OLD phone # to get access to updating this section.

I added my new phone # to the 2-step verification section, then made the new # the PRIMARY & removed the old number.

hope this helps.

This doesnt help when the phone linked to the old phone number is literally a scattered pile of ash after losing it in a fire.
