Sharing Private Account with Husband

I have had a private account for years and use it to purchase online.  I want to add my husband to the account but have read that is only possible with a business account.  I don't have a business but If I upgraded to a business account what should I put in the box when asked "name of business"?  Or, is it possible for me to keep my private account and add him to it some way?? We both share the same bank account.

Hi there @Nyeringermany.

Welcome to the Community!

It's not possible to share a Personal PayPal account between two individuals. The only way that more than one user can be added to a PayPal account is with a Business Account. Up to 8 additional users can be added on a Business PayPal account, but this only applies to registered businesses.

I would advise you both to have separate accounts and you can add a debit card and bank account to each account if you wish. I realise that you both share the same bank account, but if you have two separate cards linked to the same bank account, you can add your cards to your individual PayPal accounts without any issues.

I hope this helps.

David.

When I called PayPal they said that sometimes it does work.  I should add my husbands cell phone number and basically see if it works.....I find it strange that it only works sometimes!

If that does not work, will then make a new account!

Thanks so much for your answer...
