why does the url now say MEP dashboard when I log in

I got a message that said my account was accessed from a diferent state   , I know not to click any link in the email  but when I log in to try to change my password I see     https://www.paypal.com/mep/dashboard      I do not recall seeing this before   and I got a message saying I could not change the password from the app    I was not in an app I was on the web site on my computer

I was very much curious about /mep since usually I login through /us although I live in the UAE. But I found functionality can be limited sometimes with logging from a /ae link. 

I noticed the /mep today only, although I've been regularly, daily, using paypal for invoicing from a business account as well as day to day transactions for personal use. 

Linking the possibilities, I realize I noticed it today only, which is one of the few days in which I access paypal completely from the phone browser/paypal business app. 

With that in mind, I did a quick search, since now one seems to have answered this question over here in paypal, I came across a few different search results not necessarily related to paypal, but based on all the different results and websites I would make the assumption that mep stands for mobile electronic payment (or something very close to that).
