Debt collection demand from Paypal

I have gotten a "debt collection demand"(i dont know if that is the correct english term) from Gothia Inkasso here in Sweden.

It says its from Paypal Europe, adress Singapore and that it is a negative balance on my PayPal account and some numbers and nothing else. It is about $350 and i cant remember buying anything and my history on PayPal doesnt show anything like that. What could have happened?

PayPal doesnt seem to have customer service in Sweden

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.

4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

I just recieved the same dept collection from Gothia at the same amount 350eur (3501sek). 

It says  "Minussaldo PayPal konto <removed>"

Did you get this solved btw? If so, how?

They just told me to contact the Dept Collection company and then file a police report.

I started a chat with paypal and asked if they had any connections to Gothia Inkasso but they just shut the chat down, so not much interest from them.

 

Talked to a unpleasant woman at Gothia who said that she paused the debt and that they sent a message to paypal about it.

 

I have heard more people having this problem and i asked the lady if they have had many people complaining about it but she wouldnt answer.
So i guess calling the police is the only thing to do. Strange that paypal isnt more interested in dealing with this

I just emailed Gothia yesterday, lets see what they say. Will file a piloce report soon. Whats the exact amount they say you owe? My says 3305sek and 3501 with fees. Seems a bit wierd that 2 ppl at fairly the same time and country get a mail from Gothia at the same amount of dept. My message also say Negative Balance and Fakturadatum 2020-11-27

I have also received a dept claim from Gothia Inkasso Sweden, amount of SEK 3292,86. It stands minussaldo paypalkonto and a long line of numbers??

I hade like 7 days on me to pay it! I mailed Gothia and the paused the case for a while. I made a policereport of this and attach it to Gothia now. Wait for answer from them...

So now we are 3, but think there is more out there...

Min summa var på ungefär samma men inte exakt och inte exakt samma datum.

**bleep** samtal från Gothia idag(där vill dom säga nånting om ärendet, t.ex. att det drappat fler personer)

Men mitt inkassokrav är iaf nerlagt nu, Paypal hade sagt att det var bedrägeri.

Sa att jag skulle polisanmäla Gothia, det är ju från dom jag fått räkningen men dom skyller ju på Paypal...men hur ska man veta det? Är ju bara från Gothia jag fått räkning

 

Varför kan man inte läsa om det här nånstans? Det verkar ju vara hur många som helst som drabbats

Finner det hela ytterst märkligt. Jag polisanmälde men polisen kunde inget göra då där inte fanns någon information att gå på men skapades ett ärende iallafall. Polisen bad mig att försöka få ut lite mer info från inkasso samt paypal. Nu är det så att paypal har förmodligen den absolut sämsta supporten i hela världen har jag nu upptäckt. Det svenska support nummer man kan ringa är inte lönt då det bara tutar upptaget. Mail är uteslutet då man inte hittar mailadresser så det **bleep** bli den riktigt urusla chatten som till 99% av tiden är automatisk. När man väl kom fram till någon så bad jag om mer uppgifter ongående detta köp så som butik, vara, vart i världen samt vilken email som använts. Tillade också att jag varit i kontakt med inkasso samt gjort polisanmälan. Detta **bleep** jag till svar och jag började koka... "If you have been a victim of identity theft, you need to immediately contact your local law enforcement to file a police report. After you have filed a police report, the Police will contact us and PayPal will help them in whatever way we can. We advise you to save a copy of your police report. For example, you may need to leave it to your bank or credit card company. Here's how to learn more about online security: Go to www.paypal.se. Click Security at the bottom of the page." Jag ställde samma frågor till Gothia & **bleep** till svar att de skulle underaöka mes Paypal. Var dagligen inne på Gothias hemsida för att följa ärendet men det låg kvar väldigt över 1 vecka, dock med bortplockat sista betalningsdatum. Nu i Måndags 18/1 så loggade jag åter in på gothias sida & såg att ärendet var borta. Nu sitter jag här & är visserligen skuldfri men frågorna finns kvar. Har inte hört ett skit från Gothia om vart, när, hur & varför.

I also got this dept collection demand from Gothia saying something about minussaldo on Paypal.

I have no history on my Paypal showing any kind of info about this transaction.

Its about 350 EUR.

 

I have filed an police report on this and I contacted Gothia. They said they will take this further with PayPal and the case is now on hold at Gothia.

Hopefully this will be solved but it would be nice to get an explanation on how this have happened. 

 

It has to be someone that has registered a new paypal account on my name or something?

 

How has this worked out for you all, that has been in the same situation?
