I want to make a payment. I don't use credit cards. I have a bank account set up with PayPal and it is verified and there is enough funds in it. I thought that this would allow me to make instant payments. But apparently adding a bank account is of no benefit because payments take up to 8 days to process!! Why? What is the point of adding a bank account?? Is there any way to make an instant payment without a credit card??? If not, then what is so great about PayPal?? What is the point??
It is a little odd the way paypal has this setup. To be able to make 'Instant Payments' from your bank account paypal requires that you have a backup payment source on file, in this case a Credit Card. So once you have a confirmed Bank account on File, simply add a CC to your account, no changes will be applied to it, it just needs to be authorized.
Once you have a CC on file you should then be able to make 'Instant payments' directly from your bank account on file, the CC isn't charged.
No not at all. Paypal cannot get the amount of what you have in your bank account or CC.
When adding a CC it goes through an authorization process but that is it.
So if you have your bank account added, all you need to do is add a CC. Once the CC is on file, you can them make instant transfers from your bank account.
Just make sure you have that amount in your bank account when processing the order.
OK.. I get that... but the card IS on file.. BOTH the card and the bank account have more than the required amount... and I still have a notice that it will not "clear" till the 14th of June.
I have a verified paypal account with a cc as back up. Paypal used to let me do instant transfers but something has changed. It will take the payment from my Paypal (which I have there because some of my monthly payments stopped going thru bank account??). Wish they would put it back to the other way. Echeck is a pain because the person you bought something from is emailing you wanting to know if you've paid for item.
