Extend time for automatic log out?

I'd like to change the time to be automatically logged off for inactivity. I think it's about five minutes, and I'm having to log in every time I turn around. I'd like to change it to, say, 30 minutes. Can this be done, and where? Thanks!

tornadoalan-  That is an excellent question, more than happy to address it.  This is certainly something difficult to deal with (as even PayPal employees have the same problem :)).  Unfortunately though, that is not a setting that you can adjust.  For security purposes, the timeout is kept pretty low.

The rationale is, if you're at a library or something, a public computer, and you're accessing your account and forget to log out, we don't want someone slipping in after you making a bunch of unauthorized purchases with your money.  And even though I'm sure you would be careful with it if you could change that time, we wouldn't be able to guarantee all of our customers would be able to do that as well.

Hope that answers your question.

Well, it is only a minor nuisance... even though I run into it several times a day.

But how about if you could change it for individual computers? That way, if you logged on from a library or something, it would time you out at the default.
